Almost two decades ago, Canadian singer/songwriter Feist released the song “1234.” The track defined an era for Swedish Producer, DJ and artist Galantis (aka Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson). Now he’s focused on the track for his latest single from upcoming album due later this Fall, The Devil’s Tax Return: Vol 1.
Galantis’ Synthpop take on Feist’s “1234” was picked for The Devil’s Tax Return because the original song is one he feels “deserves more love from today’s crowd.”
Volume 1 of The Devil’s Tax Return is set for release October 16, 2026, on Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records. It includes reworkings of six songs, including previously released singles “Do You Mind,” “Stay Alive” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”.
For Karlsson, these songs were the soundtrack to his life at the time he started Miike Snow. It reminds him of the freedom of expression of those times.
Covers on The Devil’s Tax Return are drawn from a wide range of artists such as Frankie Valli, Jose Gonzalez and Kyla, The Killers, Feist, and War On Drugs.

Alongside the new music, Galantis just completed festival sets at Electric Forest and VELD, in addition to the San Francisco and Chicago editions of Midsommar, his event “symbolizing friendship, new beginnings and life in full bloom.” Look for the celebration to continue in, New York City and Denver this Fall. Other upcoming dates include shows in New Orleans, Dallas, Portland and more dates to be announced soon.
