Boston-based band The Talking Hearts describe their music as “psychoanalytic Country” and have released new single, “How Much Trouble?”. The band’s songwriter, fiddler Rachel Rosenberg, “writes about folks who’ve done her wrong”, as we will see on their upcoming album, Memory Lane, due out October 9, 2026.

Rachel says of the song:

This is a true story about a good pal who lives in Lafayette, Louisiana, who likes to ask questions that begin with ‘On a scale of 1 to 10…

Memory Lane features songs that fall somewhere “between falling in love with a dance partner and contemplating fate over yet another round at the bar.” Listeners might feel the influence of Country music icons like Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash.

Memory Lane is the follow-up to The Talking Hearts’ previous release, 2023’s Over Your Spell.

The title track of the album was inspired wise advice from Mom, reflected in the lyrics: “Trips down memory lane are not worth taking; move along, save your heart from breaking.”

Rachel Rosenberg is accompanied by bandmates Zach Meyer (mandolin, piano) and Sophie Wellington (guitar).
