This summer, Canadian Indie Rock band Gizmo has announced their debut album, All Your Worships, due out October 2, 2026, via Victory Pool. The four-piece have a sound inspired by the Pop of 1990s American slacker bands and their contemporaries on Canada’s east coast.
Comprised of frontman Julien Kitson, bassist Spencer Swaine, guitarist Patrick Stephen and drummer Daniel Hartinger, the band are also known for their high-energy live shows. The single “Antiques Roadshow” is out now. “Antiques Roadshow” is driven by a “stream-of-consciousness lyrical style” and “observational storytelling.”
Julien Kitson comments:
The opening lyric to Antiques Roadshow was, of course, inspired by the famous television show that I remember watching as a child on PBS at 1 AM. Written in 2022 but brought to life a year later, myself and the rest of Gizmo decided to rehash this song and collectively finish it as a group during a band practice before a festival appearance of ours. Upon performing it at this festival, we felt it stick, and it has now become a metaphor anthem for hitting the road for many of our friends.
All Your Worships picks up right where 2023’s Buddy System EP left off. The new material finds the band further pursuing Power-Pop songwriting, but bringing in “more unexpected twists and turns.”
To record it, the band decamped to a converted community hall in Great Village, Nova Scotia, with co-producers Alex Edkins (METZ, Weird Nightmare) and Loel Campbell (Wintersleep). They pulled 12-hour days, “sleeping at the studio and capping off nights with drunken music listening sessions.” Edkins and Campbell mixed the record, with Greg Obis (Stuck, clearance) providing the finishing touches at Chicago Mastering Service.
