West LA-based instrumental trio Captains Of Entropy, made up of keyboardist Mike Kanon, bassist Reilly Wareham, drummer Jason Young, have released new single “On Juno” alongside a video. A prologue of what’s to come, “On Juno” suggests “the beginning of a journey.”

The pandemic musical project of three neighbors, including an indie rocker, a DJ, and a psychotherapist, Captains Of Entropy crafts soundscapes that reflect their West LA stomping grounds.

The trio has recently announced their upcoming EP, Beatrice Comes Home, due out September 18th, 2026. For the album, the trio take on a more narrative-based approach. The EP was recorded at EastWest Studios in Hollywood, and Produced and mixed by 2x Grammy-winning engineer Bill Mims (Ben Harper, Jimmy Cliff).

Regarding “On Juno,” Mike Kanon says:

I wrote the bass melody for this song on a Roland Juno 6 synth that was stolen out of my car when I first moved to LA. We explored parts of this composition when writing songs for our first album. It didn’t come together until Jason found a simple hi-hat groove during a jam that tied it all together. With ‘On Juno’ about to finally see the light of day, the pain of the stolen synth stings a little less.
