Australian Heavy music band Northlane have announced their seventh studio album, Anemoia, out on October 30th, 2026, via independent release. They’ve also released new single “CUT_it.” The song “CUT_it” is one that “encapsulates the bone-weariness of total burnout.” It’s accompanied by a video.

Vocalist Marcus Bridge comments:

CUT_it is about burnout – the feeling of grinding through things when you’re completely spent, mentally and physically. The imagery is deliberately visceral, painting a picture of that exhaustion rather than analysing it.

With the world around us that seems to descend into chaos, the band have still created their “most hopeful and human record yet.”

Following on previous album Obsidian (2022), Anemoia looks at the “concept of feeling nostalgia for a time or place one has never known.” This creates a sense of “darkness and light” on the album.

Bridge adds:

There’s darkness here, but it’s not nihilism – and there’s hope, but it’s not naivety.

The band are currently on the road playing festivals in the United Kingdom and Europe before embarking on the Hellbound Cruise and another tour across the UK and Europe supporting Dayseeker this fall.
