Evil Island have unveiled “King Death,” the latest single and music video from their forthcoming debut album, Terraform The Afterlife, due August 14, 2026, via Blowed Out Records. The thirteen-song LP is a combination of Post-Hardcore, Noise Rock, Art Punk, and experimentation. The song aims to “distills chaos” into “pure catharsis”.

The band’s Johny Whitney says of the track:

‘King Death’ is a really simple story about a woman who skips bail and is on the run. Someone who fights back with absolutely no leverage against the certainty of being turned into chum. It’s about nihilism—recognizing you have no chance at survival but choosing to fight anyway. It’s an ode to everyone living in their car, bleaching their roots in a truck stop bathroom, refusing to disappear quietly.

The accompanying video “transforms Las Vegas into a handmade cardboard landscape filled with symbols of excess and vice.” Armed with a cardboard scythe, the band’s Johnny Whitney moves through the miniature city as the band appears as cutout characters.

The custom cardboard instruments come courtesy of Cardboard Sessions, a collaboration between SIGNAL EXP and Ernest Packaging, “proving even the disposable can refuse to disappear quietly.”

The video was filmed in Studio One at EastWest Studios in Los Angeles, where artists from Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson to The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, and Adele have recorded.
