Singer/songwriter Cory Branan has returned with “Ricochet,” a new single from his forthcoming album, You’ll Live, arriving October 9, 2026, via Blue Élan Records. The song “wrestles with what remains after life’s illusions fade and reality settles in”, a theme Branan explores with “humor, heartache and hard-earned wisdom.”
Branan explains:
Ricochet is a simple tune about being struck by a past event you thought you dodged. And how, if that happens a few times, there’s the tendency to brace for it after every situation. Musically there’s an identical phrase repeated over changing chords that determine if phrase provides tension or closure.
Branan has always been wide-ranging in terms of genre, whether drawing from Folk, Country, Punk or Southern Rock. Produced by Anthony da Costa, You’ll Live continues that philosophy of putting the song first, moving between “intimate confessionals, expansive storytelling, existential reflection and bursts of punk energy.”
Branan will be touring throughout the summer and fall in support of You’ll Live. A handful of August dates will see him sharing bills with Ben Nichols of Lucero.
