CH3 Frontman Mike Magrann’s New Memoir ‘Tin Knocker’ Chronicles The Transition From Youthful Idealism To Adult Realities

DiWulf Publishing has announced the release of Tin Knocker, the new memoir from Mike Magrann, vocalist and founding member of Southern California Punk band CH3 (Channel 3). A continuation of his previous memoir, Miles Per Gallon, Tin Knocker chronicles a pivotal chapter in both Magrann’s life and the evolution of the American Punk scene.

Tin Knocker explores “the difficult choices that define adulthood.” As the Hardcore movement begins to fade, Magrann “finds himself confronting questions about ambition, responsibility, identity, and what success really means.”

With CH3 earning a loyal following in Los Angeles’ close-knit Punk community, the band seemed poised for the kind of major-label breakthrough. The realities of underground Punk and of growing older offered a different path.

Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, Tin Knocker is “an honest, thoughtful reflection on the transition from youthful idealism to adult responsibility.”

Magrann says:

Tin Knocker is ultimately a story about choices. The choices that find you when you’re still figuring out who you are, and the choices you make when life no longer lets you remain a kid.
