Austin Americana artist, bassist, and bandleader Ruby Dice will release her new album, Take Me Back, on August 28, 2026 via Gitcha Records. Rooted in Americana, Country, Blues, and Rock, the album is both personal and a tribute to the Austin musicians and community that have shaped Ruby’s career.

The album’s first single, “Dress to Impress,” featuring Shinyribs, is out now. The second single, “Little Big Town,” featuring Nakia will be released on July 29.

Voted Best Bassist in Austin by the Austin Chronicle, Dice has earned a reputation as a respected collaborator while also working as a songwriter. She is originally from Gunnison, Colorado, she blends Colorado grit with her Texas sound.

Produced by the Ruby Dice Band and recorded at Buds Recording Services, Take Me Back showcases the touring band consisting of Ruby Dice (bass, vocals), Calloway Ritch (guitar), Jeff Sanders (drums and percussion), David Thacker (keys), and Simon Paige (pedal steel).

The album also features special guest appearances by Austin artists including Suzanna Choffel, Shinyribs, Nakia, Jordan Matthew Young, Grey Horse, Scott Strickland, Sean McHargue, Garrett Jay Brown, and Sophia Johnson, highlighting the collaborative spirit that’s part of Austin’s music scene.

Dice says:

The record became something much bigger than an album. It’s really a snapshot of the incredible music community that’s lifted me up over the years. Every collaboration represents a friendship, a late-night jam, or someone who believed in me along the way.

Dice has shared stages with artists such as Brian Wilson and recorded early in her career alongside members of Band of Heathens. Today, she leads her own band while continuing to collaborate with many of Austin’s musicians.

An official hometown album release show is scheduled for August 29 at The 04 Center in Austin. The evening will feature premiere of a documentary screening before the show, along with special guest appearances from many of the collaborators featured on the album.
