Gerry Beckley has released new single “Get It Right,” the latest preview of his forthcoming solo album Merciful, due August 18th, 2026, via Blue Élan Records.
“Get It Right” reveals another side of Merciful, an album that “balances reflection with optimism.” Punctuated by horn arrangements, the song began as an idea from Beckley’s archives before finding new life during the making of the record.
Beckley says:
‘Get It Right’ was one of those songs from the vaults that still really held up. It felt good to revisit it and finally bring it to life.
Produced by Beckley and longtime collaborator Jeff Larson, Merciful finds the band America co-founder “looking both backward and forward.” Since stepping away from touring in 2023, Beckley has devoted himself to writing and recording, largely from his home studios in Sydney, Australia and Venice, California.

Recorded primarily by Beckley himself, Merciful features contributions from bassist Jason Scheff, pianist Nate Strasser, string arranger Matt Combs, guitarists Steve Fekete and Dave Rosser, horn player Nick Lane, saxophonist James Valentine, backing vocalist Jeff Larson, drummers Ryland Steen, Luke Davison, and Brian Young. The album also includes a special guest appearance from Graham Nash on a rendition of the Beatles’ “Norwegian Wood.”
