Grammy-nominated Blues and Soul artist Janiva Magness has released her new single, “Slipped, Tripped and Fell in Love,” offering listeners preview of her forthcoming live album, Truth in the Room: The Clearmountain Sessions, due out August 7, 2026, via Blue Élan Records.
Recorded live before an audience of 150 invited guests at Berkeley Street Studios in Los Angeles, “Slipped, Tripped and Fell in Love” captures Magness’ live performance experience of over 30 years. The track serves as a preview of Truth in the Room: The Clearmountain Sessions, the first comprehensive live album of her career.
Truth in the Room: The Clearmountain Sessions was recorded and mixed by esteemed engineer and mixer Bob Clearmountain.
Over a career spanning more than thirty years, Magness has earned a Grammy nomination, multiple Blues Music Awards, the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year honor and a 2025 Women Songwriters Hall of Fame induction. The performance captures ten songs drawn from across her catalog.
