Norwegian all-female Rock band The Cocktail Slippers have released new single “This Town“. The track is the latest from the band’s forthcoming album Joyride, due out August 28, 2026, via Wicked Cool Records.
While The Cocktail Slippers often Rock hard, “This Town” reveals a different side of their sound, built around melodies, harmonies, with a laid-back groove, the song “captures the emotional connection people have with the places they call home.” The song was recorded at Propeller Studios in Oslo with engineer Michael Scott Hartung.
The band explains:
THIS TOWN is an ode to our residential town, Oslo, Norway. But most of all, it’s a song reflecting on the different layers in any town. You have dark streets, shady people at the same time as you have kids playing, sunshine and good vibes. THIS TOWN has a more melodic and poppy sound than the hard rocking 70’s inspired songs we have released from our upcoming album. It’s a vibe, it’s a feeling. It’s all about love for the place you live.

Though inspired by Oslo, the song’s themes are universal. “This Town” celebrates “the beauty found in everyday surroundings—the familiar streets, the people, the contradictions, and the shared experiences that shape a community.”
