Roses & Revolutions, the Western New York duo of Alyssa Coco and Matt Merritt, has announced their new EP, Ghost in the Trees, out July 31, 2026 via Nettwerk. With this news, they have shared the EP’s title track, a song that “pulls listeners into the shadowy world at the heart of the project.” “Ghost in the Trees” is built around “longing and memory.”

Merritt says:

We tied in some supernatural imagery. It’s a fictional or nonfictional meeting in the woods with a spooky entity.

Across Ghost in the Trees, Roses & Revolutions draw from the natural world around them, including the pine trees and lake near their home. They also delve into “the sense of mystery that comes with distance, quiet, and open space.”

Coco comments:

Nature, the unknown, and a feeling of vastness were so crucial to this EP. We’re merely specks in this huge universe, and that’s a core theme.

The duo took their time shaping Ghost in the Trees, culling inspiration from their surroundings and immersing themselves in books like R.F. Kuang’s Yellowface and Karin Slaughter’s Pretty Girls and music from artists like Billie Eilish, Lord Huron, Gracie Abrams, and Phoebe Bridgers. The EP features Folk-leaning guitars, ethereal Production, and organic instrumentation.

The EP follows a run of releases including Covers, Midnight Monsters, Keep A Little Light On, and Questions.
