Nashville-by-way-of-Kentucky singer/songwriter Adam Chaffins has announced the upcoming release of his new album, Trailer Trash: Doublewide, on August 21, 2026, via Spirit Nashville Recordings / Fluid Music Revolution. This is a full-length expansion of the Trailer Trash world he introduced listeners to last summer with his 5-song EP.
Co-Produced with Frank Rogers, who’s helmed over 40 number ones, along with Derek Wells, Mike Fiorentino and Chaffins himself, the record tells stories of American life from an Appalachian perspective. This theme is encapsulated by newly released single “King of Coal Dust County,” a track “about an infamous Robin Hood-style figure and the legend surrounding him.”
Chaffins says:
Growing up in eastern Kentucky, I was surrounded by some of the most colorful, larger-than-life characters you could imagine. It’s no wonder that part of the world has always been a songwriting haven. ‘King Of Coal Dust County’ came together with the incredible Billy Montana and my wife, Brit Taylor.
Brit and I both grew up in eastern Kentucky, so it was easy for us to go line by line, swapping stories and filling Billy in on some of the more notorious characters we knew back home — especially one in particular who really sparked the whole idea for the song. While the song certainly leans into the outlaw side of Appalachia, it also speaks to the deep loyalty of the people there and the lengths folks will go to survive.
Trailer Trash: Doublewide is not just a record about Chaffins’ present, but also his past, with songs about the landscapes, lives and characters of the Bluegrass State. He honors the doublewide trailer he grew up in while also understanding that nowhere is perfect.
These songs led producer Frank Rogers to offer Chaffins a publishing deal on the spot, making him just the third songwriter in Rogers’ career to receive such an offer, after Chris Stapleton and Josh Turner. When Chaffins first went in to meet with Rogers, he had years under his belt as an instrumentalist for many others including Billy Strings, Lee Ann Womack, Kendell Marvel, Jake Owen and Town Mountain. He feels that this experience “showed him new ways to deliver stories.”

Chaffins shares:
This music comes from my perspective of standing all over the stage. I’ve been a sideman and a frontman—but mostly, I’ve been a journeyman. And that journey’s all over this record.
