After announcing their sophomore album, Press Start, last month, Samurai Pizza Cats have released new single/video “T-Rex(plosion)”, with a guest feature by Spanish Modern Metal band Ankor. Both bands teamed up for the dino-sized music video recording.
Samurai Pizza Cats were founded in 2021 by Daniel Haniß (Electric Callboy), Sebastian Fischer, and Stefan Buchwald (both formerly of Fall Of Gaia). Since 2021, Stefan Reufer has been their bassist and a permanent member of Samurai Pizza Cats. At the end of 2025, Robin Kemper joined the band as the new drummer.
Musically, the band moves between Metalcore and Deathcore with electronic influences. Their songs are blend of humor and “profound themes”, and their name is a nod to a cult anime series.
Their debut album, You’re Hellcome, was released in 2023 and entered the Top 100 of the German album charts.
