Jillette Johnson Finds Joy In ‘The Pain, My Friend’ EP And Heads Out On Tour

On March 6, 2026, singer/songwriter Jillette Johnson will release a new 5-song EP, The Pain, My Friend, produced by Joe Pisapia. In support of the release, she will hit the road for a run of tour dates supporting Fantastic Cat that will kick off on April 11 in Woodstock, NY and make stops in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, and her hometown of Nashville, TN at Row One on April 23.

The song “Joy To Remember”, and an accompanying video, are out now.

About the EP, Johnson explains:

I wrote and recorded The Pain, My Friend at a time in my life where I’m really just wanting to connect to the joy of writing songs that I had when I started out as a kid. I think this body of work reflects that sense of unbridled, unfiltered, childlike magic.

About the tour, she adds:

There are few things I love as much as touring, and I’m so excited to get back on the road to play my new EP live, in person, for real people. And to do it opening for a band that I’m a true fan of, plus we’re playing some of my favorite rooms in the country?… such a privilege!

The Pain, My Friend follows a string of singles and EPs Johnson has been steadily releasing over the last 5 years.
