Krooked Kings Embrace Imperfections With “Ugly Love”

Indie-Rock outfit Krooked Kings have shared “Ugly Love”, the newest release from the band’s forthcoming album, In Another Life, out March 27, 2026, via SoundOn. The LP was recorded in Los Angeles with Producer Yves Rothman (Blondshell, Yves Tumor), mixed by Lawrence Rothman (Amanda Shires, Marissa Nadler), and mastered by Emily Lazar (Jacob Collier, HAIM, Vampire Weekend).

The Salt Lake City–born five-piece features Oli Martin (vocals, guitar), Paul Colgan (guitar), Dave Macey (keys), Matt Monosson (bass), and Quinn Casper (drums).

“Ugly Love” looks at “the messier side of romance”.

Guitarist Colgan says of the single:

Ugly love is a song about accepting someone fully, seeing their imperfections as endearing and their scars as part of a story that makes them whole. Young relationships can often have you wearing rose-tinted glasses, but beyond the honeymoon stage you learn to embrace what you cannot change, leading you to love the person even more.

Across In Another Life, Krooked Kings “navigate the space between who you are and who you hope to become.” The album was written in the wake of an intense touring period and shows a focus on vulnerability and embracing a more expansive dynamic range.

Krooked Kings will support the album release with a headline tour beginning this spring.
