Jordy Searcy is a Louisiana-born, San Diego-based singer/songwriter known for his intricate guitar work, and he has released new album, Mt. Tam, today via Nettwerk. The song “North Star” is also out now.

Jordy Searcy shares:

In my art, what I’m actually after isn’t just a song. It’s the feeling only a recording can transmit from one person to another; it’s when you believe a song speaks for you. I actually want to make that invisible string that connects people through art. My songs are the thread.

The singer/songwriter relocated to Nashville and launched his career with the 2018 release of the Dark In The City EP. His 2020 full-length debut, Love? Songs. He followed with 2022’s Daylight and by recording “Colors” for the big-screen film Harold and the Purple Crayon.

The artist released The End of Us EP in 2025. Along the way, he crafted Mt. Tam. This time around, he took the reins as Producer. In the studio, he learned how to arrange strings, and he performed on cello, viola, and violin. He chronicled this evolution by livestreaming the process.

Regarding the album’s title, it refers to Mount Tamalpais in the north of San Francisco.

He shares:

It’s the most beautiful and peaceful spot. In a lot of ways, the real mountain is what I’ve tried to do with my career: travel the world and make music. However, I’m realizing nothing compares to just being at home with my wife and enjoying my community.
