Shintaro Sakamoto has shared a live in-studio performance video for his latest single, “Is There A Place For You There?”, directed by Yasuyuki Yamaguchi. The recording took place last month at Peace Music studio in Tokyo, where Sakamoto recorded his upcoming LP, Yoo-hoo, due out January 23, 2026 via Zelone Records.
The song was performed by the Shintaro Sakamoto Band, including Shintaro Sakamoto (vocal & guitar), AYA (bass), Yuta Suganuma (drums), Tetsu Nishiuchi (flute), with the recording engineered by Soichiro Nakamura.
Written and produced by Sakamoto, “Is There A Place For You There?” blends nostalgic Pop influences with Dub-infused production.
Shintaro Sakamoto began his career as the vocalist and guitarist of the rock band Yura Yura Teikoku in 1989. After disbanding in 2010, he launched his solo career in 2011 on his own label, Zelone Records, releasing four full-length albums, including 2022’s Like A Fable.

In 2024, Sakamoto toured the U.S., Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, and South Korea, alongside his domestic tour in Japan. Earlier this year, he contributed vocals and lyrics to “Indifference,” a track from 24Hr Sports, the new album by Grammy-winning producer Leon Michels and his band El Michels Affair. More music is due in the coming months.
