Leading up to Megadeth’s final studio album, out January 23, 2026 via Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label, have revealed the single and video for “Let There Be Shred!” The song’s lyrics echo the song’s structure as “a tsunami of sound.” This is the final single to be released ahead of the album.
Directed by Keith Leman, the accompanying video features Mustaine participating in a mixed martial arts battle, alongside live performance footage.
Dave Mustaine comments:
When Megadeth started we said we would be fast and furious…we said so on the flyers we handed out. This song is fast and furious. Know it! It has a very hooky chorus that draws you in and you can’t help but play air guitar and headbang to this one.
It’s the second video from the new record that we made with Keith [Leman], who also directed ‘I Don’t Care.’ It was a blast to make and it’s a tribute to my first Sensei, Benny ‘The Jet’ Urquidez and my Professor, Reggie Almieda. Everyone on the set was really stoked to see each of us do our stunts. In the end, we got the balance of shredding and ass kicking just right!
There are a number of events leading up to the Megadeth’s self-titled album release, along with the launch of their final tour.
That includes Megadeth: Behind The Mask, a cinematic event for one night only on January 22nd which will preview the new album in a documentary on the eve of the album’s release.

There will also be an exclusive, day-long immersive celebration, Let There Be Shred: The Ultimate Megadeth Immersive Listening Event on Saturday, January 17 in La Vergne, TN, just outside Nashville. Megadeth will host fans for a look inside the band’s world with a day that will “offer attendees the opportunity to get closer to the band, the music, the stories, and the legacy than ever before.”
On the live front, Megadeth will kick off their farewell tour in North America with a cross-country headlining tour of Canada launching February 15 in Victoria, BC and include stops in Calgary, Winnipeg, and Ottawa before wrapping March 6 in Quebec City, QC.
