Berlin-based Indie band The Morning Stars have released “Can’t Stand Up”, the debut single from their forthcoming album, A Hymn Without a Sound, out January 16, 2026.
Formed almost by accident, the band brings together a lineup of some of Germany’s most beloved indie musicians: Barbara Morgenstern, Alex Paulick (Kreidler, Coloma), Sebastian Vogel (Kante, Britta), and Felix Müller-Wrobel (Kante, Sport). What began as a surprise birthday present for a friend became something much bigger unity of experiences and “musical trust.”
“Can’t Stand Up” is a hymn of empowerment, one that “refuses to stay still and instead rises, radiant and defiant.”

Their upcoming album, A Hymn Without a Sound, captures four musicians “rediscovering the joy of making music together.” Recorded in Berlin’s LowSwing Studio with Guy Sternberg, and later mixed and mastered by Alex Paulick and Norman Nitzsche, the record moves suggests fragility as well as Post-Rock atmospheres.
