Viennese artist Silvia Ryder, best known for her work as one half of the former Dreampop duo Sugarplum Fairies, and known under her solo moniker My Violence, has announced her sophomore album, titled Monday’s Child.
The single and video “Isabella Rossellini” is out now, and it’s a track that captures tides of “infatuation, betrayal, loneliness, and devotion”.
Out now, Monday’s Child sees Ryder “deepen her exploration of noir-toned melancholia and dreamlike emotional states.” Inspired by the 19th-century English fortune-telling nursery rhyme from which it takes its name, Monday’s Child unfolds in a series of vignettes. The album was Produced and mixed by Marlon Rabenreither (aka Gold Star).

Across Monday’s Child, Ryder continues to expand the sonic world she began shaping with her 2023 self-titled debut. For this album, she “ventures further into the shadows.”
