Singer/songwriter Don Arbor has released his new album on CD, Hope Is Hard to Kill, which features 12 songs across a range of musical genres.
Don Arbor says that his inspiration for his songs can come from:
…a dream, from the news of the day, from a snippet of conversation that reveals something deeper, or a new way of looking at love and loss. I never really know when a song will be born out of living every day with my eyes and ears open.
The album spans Blues- tinged Rock, ballads, with and Country, with inspiration drawn from The Eagles, and even Green Day.
The title track, “Hope Is Hard to Kill,” delivers “a powerful message to get through hard times.”
Don Arbor says about it:
Hope is a source of strength. To me, the song reminds that we’ve survived challenges in the past, and that we have the resilience to overcome any obstacles.
The Hope Is Hard to Kill CD features collaborating musicians Stef Burns, who was long-time lead guitarist for Huey Lewis and The News, Curtis Ohlson, who has been bassist for everyone from Ray Charles to Branford Marsalis, Kevin Hayes, drummer with Robert Cray for two decades, and two violinists: Barbara Higbie, best known for her work on the Windham Hill label, and Mads Tolling, who tours with Bob Weir and performs his own classical works with symphony orchestras.
