The artist Benjamin Jayne has released a cover of a Spinal Tap song on the recently released album, The Majesty of Rock – An All-Star Spinal Tap Tribute Album to Benefit Young People with Cancer.
This compilation album is a charitable project that supports Teen Cancer America, a non-profit organization founded by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of the classic Rock band The Who.

On the album, Benjamin Jayne covers “Heavy Duty,” which was co-Produced by longtime collaborator Drew Skinner.
Of the song, Benjamin Jayne writes:
I was honored to be a part of this album. It is nearly impossible to walk through this life and not be impacted by cancer in some way. It is a deeply personal cause. It was definitely outside of my wheelhouse, but we had fun reworking “Heavy Duty” and making it unique to us.
The triple album, produced by Marc Shea, includes Spinal Tap covers submitted by members of Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Go-Go’s, Mastodon, System Of A Down, Soul Asylum, The Handsome Family, Kyuss, Failure, Vixen, Foreigner, and The Smoking Popes. The collection also features a contribution from Robyn Hitchcock and a special performance by Teen Cancer America’s own Play It Back Players.
The album is available for a limited run of 5,000 digital copies, obtainable via a minimum donation of $19.84 to Teen Cancer America (the amount being a nod to the 1984 release of the landmark film, This is Spinal Tap).
This unique fundraising initiative will “directly support Teen Cancer America’s mission to provide specialized facilities and programs for adolescents and young adults with cancer across the United States.” The minimum donation of $19.84 offers fans “a chance to own a piece of rock and roll history while making a significant difference in the lives of young people with cancer.”
