Coming from his collaboration with the original reunited Alice Cooper band and ahead of his upcoming European tour, singer, songwriter, and Glam Rock artist Gyasi {Jah-see} is releasing a new single, trading his usual guitar for the piano, “Apple Tree”.

Gyasi says about “Apple Tree”:

“Apple Tree” is the result of writing on piano as opposed to my usual way of writing on guitar. I was looking for some new types of songs for this record and I wanted something that was more sparse and open ended on the verses and then had a groove on the chorus. We initially tracked it one way and then I ended up keeping the verses but totally rewriting the chorus and rebuilding the song. I had the title Apple Tree written down for a while and it just felt like musically this would fit so I used that title as a jumping off point for a bit of a nostalgic love song. Sometimes you have to let go of expectations and just venture into the musical void and see what happens.

Inspired by a wide range of art and culture both past and present, Gyasi’s work is fueled by a desire to bring Rock-n-Roll into the 21st century. He takes cues from Lou Reed and David Bowie, and pursues the essence of theatrical Rock-n-Roll.

Gyasi’s recent studio album, Here Comes The Good Part, is out now on vinyl, CD and DSPs via Alive Naturalsound Records.
