Danheim is a Nordic folk/Viking inspired project from the Copenhagen-based Danish Producer Reidar Schæfer Olsen, a man with 10 years of experience in electronic and ambient music. His new album, Heimferd, comes out October 31, 2025, via Season of Mist. The title track and accompanying music video are out now.

Danheim’s music is often composed of ideas and stories based on “the darker side of the Viking period, inspired or consisting of Nordic Mythology, old Danish folklore, and a vivid imagination.”

Danheim had music featured in multiple seasons of the popular TV show, Vikings. He’s also known for starting the indie label Fimbul Records.

Danheim is well known in Nordic Folk, Viking, and World Music. But with Heimfred, Producer Reidar Schaefer Olsen is continuing to evolve a Nordic sound by “journeying home.”

The new album “resonates with a sense of cultural return.” It “balances…primal ritual and quiet introspection.”
