Destroyer, led by Dan Bejar, has shared a new video directed by David Galloway for “Travel Light,” the closing track from their 14th album, Dan’s Boogie (Merge Records).
Later this month, the band embarks on a North American tour, where they’ll be joined by Jennifer Castle and Cass McCombs for select dates. The upcoming run features the full seven-piece band for their first tour in three years.
The video for “Travel Light” features footage of truckers and rest stops in foggy, late-night settings channeling “dreaminess and wanderlust.”
Dan Bejar says of the video:
‘Travel Light’ is a dreamsong captured in a simple and documentarian way, so I think it makes sense to splice me playing and singing it with footage of America’s Ghost Ship at night. The song is essentially saying ‘All Aboard!’
