Ben Denny Mo’s “In The Breakdown” Navigates The Wreckage Of Love Lost

Ben Denny Mo is a British singer/songwriter currently based on the Maltese island of Gozo, where he’s been influenced by the “sun, sea, and Mediterranean spirit.” Blending acoustic Folk, Pop, and Soul with storytelling, Ben’s songs carry themes of “love, life, pain, and the quiet art of observing others.” His new single “In The Breakdown” captures “the emotional turmoil of a breakup.”

The song about the “wreckage of a love lost” follows his previous release “September” and gives us a taste of his upcoming vinyl EP, The Norfkl Tapes, due October 2025.

Primarily recorded in a local studio in Norfolk, UK, the EP “reflects Ben’s journey with dyslexia—a challenge that led him to music as a creative refuge.” It features production from Jack Murphy (Youth Killed It) and Rhys Downing (Mark Ronson, The Last Dinner Party).

Ben is known for his unconventional “2 capo” guitar style and unique vocals. Beyond music, he also works as a chef on Gozo.

Ben Denny Mo has had two Record of the Week slots on BBC Introducing Norfolk and Norfolk & Suffolk, airplay on BBC 6 Music, and performances at Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Secret Garden Party, and London’s Omeara. His path is one of “perseverance, self-belief, and turning obstacles into art.”
