“I’ll Be Okay,” is the final single released from, I Love You, the first full-length album from Brooklyn-based Retro-Pop outfit, Late Slip. A new video for the single has just been revealed.
The album was produced at the hands of Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast, FIDLAR, Nikki Lane, Poolside) and is released on 12” LP vinyl, CD, as a digital download, and via streaming platforms on Party Mermaid Records.
I Love You delivers “the invitation to cozy up close, let your feelings flow, and dance it all away.”
Late Slip’s ringleader, Chelsea Nenni, was born on the East Coast but grew up in California. She studied opera in college and moved to New York City in her mid-20’s to pursue a life onstage.
Later, she taught herself guitar to stave off seasonal depression and ended up channeling “big feelings.” Nenni later moved to L.A. to explore Late Slip’s potential. She worked with Cian Riordan (Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Beth Ditto, Grace Potter) at Barefoot Studios to create her Other Men EP (2016).

Further down the road, Nenni worked with Best Coast’s Crazy for You Producer, Lewis Pesacov. L.A. R&B artist Nick Waterhouse soon joined the mix and the three wrote “Strike (feat. Nick Waterhouse)” which she recorded for her Reelin’ EP (2020). This trio also created the title track for that EP which was released on Party Mermaid Records.
