Vocalist, performer, and producer Kadhja Bonet (she/they) has announced their new EP, Battlewear, out September 18, 2025. The EP is a “meditation on minimalism” as Bonet stripped down to vocals, guitar, bass, and drum, allowing her “to tap into an all too familiar feeling of rage.”
Described as “politically charged by the current moment,” the album is also something that Bonet felt the need to release “without engaging the cannibalized corporate streamers,” making the decision to release the EP via only Bandcamp.
Bonet explains:
‘Battlewear’ is political rage. It was created in response to my own perfectionistic tendencies. I needed reprieve, catharsis, urgency. In these songs, my lyrical approach is much more direct than ever before.
Alongside the album announcement, Bonet has shared the first look into the project with title track + video “Battlewear.”
Bonet shares:
This song is a direct cry to topple the oligarchy and end tech-fascism. The billionaires think we will let them dismantle our rights and our decency and they are wrong. The resistance will grow, it has to.
For now, Battlewear will only be available for download on Bandcamp, and a limited run on vinyl. A full-length record is expected in the first quarter of 2026.

Kadhja has previously released the albums The Visitor (2016) and Childqueen (2018). Since then, she has collaborated with Anderson .Paak, SiR, Childish Gambino, Free Nationals, Bonobo, Khruangbin, and was sampled on Kendrick Lamar’s “Die Hard.”
After pausing public activity for the last couple years to get a master’s degree in music technology, she’s back to compose, perform, and Produce.
