San Diego-based British singer/songwriter Pip Lewis has shared the new music video for “Funeral,” a track from her recent album, Growing Pains. Lewis works with emotionally charged lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes.

“Funeral” is a song delves into themes of “unrequited love and emotional absence.” The accompanying video blends “stark imagery with surreal, dreamlike sequences.”

Lewis comments:

‘Funeral,’ and its accompanying video, plays with the idea of the end of love and the end of life. It’s a commentary on subjects that most people don’t like to dwell on. I found a lot of joy in mulling over what my funeral would look like and who would be there. The music video helped realize that mental image for me. Seeing my urn in the music video was quite grounding in a way—it served as a somewhat disturbing reminder of the finite nature of life and love.

The release of “Funeral” follows Growing Pains, an album that charts “self-discovery, heartbreak, and resilience.”
