Norwegian Progressive Metal band Green Carnation are embraking on a three-part journey that’s two decades in the making with their upcoming album, A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores of Melancholia. It arrives on September 5, 2025.

Green Carnation have premiered the title track with Metal Injection and it conveys “sinking hopes for the present state of our world.”   

Vocalist Kjetil Nordhus says:

Melancholia is a place that’s suited Green Carnation from the very beginning. But it’s especially fitting for the first part of A Dark Poem, because this album is about losing faith in what we’ve come to believe about the world.
