The Thing’s Self-Titled Rock Album Leans Into Their Collective Strengths

New York Rock band The Thing sticks with the ethos of Garage Rock and have announced a self-titled album arriving August 6th, 2025. It arrives as their third album and embraces a myriad of Rock influences. Several songs from the album are out now, including “Something to Say,” a track about “having a voice”.

Bassist/vocalist Zane Acord comments on the album:

It showcases all of us, all of our different personalities. In The Thing, we’re a collective band. We hang our hats on being a true band — where we all have the spotlight. I think that gives us a different edge.

The band have played more than 200 shows across the U.S., Europe and the U.K and when they returned stateside, they decided to create a self-titled masterwork.

Bradley says:

When you go back and look at classic albums, most bands, especially in the ‘60s and ‘70s, have a self-titled album, and it’s usually the coolest and the strongest. We felt really proud and wanted to lead with our strongest foot with this album.
