Aurelia & Icarus Moth Wrote “Supernova” Featuring Ehiorobo To Feel Free And Joyful

New York-based duo Aurelia & Icarus Moth have shared new single and video “Supernova” from their upcoming EP Prometheans, out July 25th, 2025. Featuring Jersey City-based artist Ehiorobo, the track is the second installment of Prometheans.

Ehiorobo explains:

I feel like ‘SUPERNOVA’ is a soul igniting, playful, and other worldly dancefloor record. Within the space of the PROMETHEANS project, it’s kind of a call to action to the listener inspiring them to acknowledge their worth while thrashing about in pure fun. As the featured vocalist on this track, I think I was tasked with adding a slightly different tone with my performance to make it clear to any listener that the energy of this track is social, a bit daring, and simply focused on having a good time.

The 5-track EP was Produced by Icarus Moth with visuals, songwriting, and vocal production from Aurelia. Aurelia also has brought forth their expertise as a visual artist with work published in Vogue Italia, Wonderland, Alternative Press, and more. Icarus Moth, who works in commercial music, “uses this project to experiment with new sonic textures and arrangement styles, pushing beyond genre conventions.”

Aurelia says about the new track:

‘SUPERNOVA’ is a power anthem I wrote for myself — and for anyone who needs to feel free, joyful, and seen. I wanted it to be something people could dance to and feel liberated by, just like I did while writing it. The lyrics are BOLD and evocative, inspired by my journey in embracing my gender identity and sexuality — a process that’s taken time, reflection, and a lot of unlearning. I’ve been lucky to have incredible queer mentors who helped me understand what it means to be nonbinary and where my strength truly lies, and part of it actually is in femininity and sensuality, which are on this track. Their support inspired me to create something celebratory, not self-critical. I was going through a lot when I made this record, and I needed a reminder of the joy I’ve felt at Pride, in packed clubs with friends, and on dance floors where I felt most alive. This track marks a bold shift in my sound and identity, and performing it on tour last year helped me find a new kind of self-love.
