Singer/songwriter and veteran touring musician Paul Trudeau has released new single “Break You”, offering a look at his upcoming album, Lost Diamond Boy, arriving August 1, 2025 on Blue Élan Records.
Featuring a duet with vocalist Kathleen Fisher and a string arrangement by Eric Gorfain, “Break You” dives “into the emotional wreckage of a love that couldn’t survive.”
Trudeau shares:
‘Break You’ is one of the most personal songs on the album. It’s about those moments when you’re caught between remembering what was and needing to let go. Sometimes there’s no closure—just silence and survival.
Lost Diamond Boy, Trudeau’s first solo release since 2017’s Shirley Road and his debut on Blue Élan, is a “personal chronicle of love, loss, and rebuilding in the aftermath of divorce.” It was Produced by Camilla Darling at Dave’s Room in North Hollywood.
The record also features collaborators such as Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, drummer Erik Eldenius, and Trudeau’s 21-year-old son Lucien Valen, who plays guitar on multiple tracks.

Trudeau has worked with artists like Melissa Etheridge, Rick Springfield, Susanna Hoffs, and Meredith Brooks, and has spent the past decade as the touring keyboardist for Billy Idol. He is currently on the road again with Idol, supporting the 2025 North American tour with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
Trudeau says:
There’s something special about balancing both worlds. I love being part of these legendary artists’ live shows, but this solo record is where I really tell my story.
