Norwegian multi-disciplinary artist Vilde Tuv, who crafts sonic landscapes through her fusion of vocals and instrumentation, has returned with “Solace In The Sun,” the second release from her new solo material, sung in English for the first time.

Solace In The Sun is a song that “encourages listeners to release control and find meaning in the everyday”.

Over the past year, Vilde Tuv has performed at Scandinavian music festivals, including Borealis, Insomnia, Strøm, and Intonal, and composed the score for the Norwegian feminist horror film The Ugly Stepsister (2025), which is currently screening in cinemas worldwide after premiering at Sundance and Berlinale.

Vilde Tuv says about the new track:

I listened to a lot of dance music of the 90s with female vocals, profound and existential lyrics, doubled with intense emotional music. I was intrigued by this poetry which really didn’t hold a high status, but still was waterproof in how they held the greatness of the themes they were singing about. The song mixes song structure of a folk song but with sounds and themes remembering another time and place.
