Tony & Gravel have previously released a Punk single, but this time wanted to experiment via “Tropic Thunderground”, an Indie Hip-Hop single recorded in Spokane, Washington, and mastered by Christopher H Fogal at Black in Bluhm. It features artist Mikey. The song comes from “late-night conversations about time, loss, and self-acceptance.”
Tony says:
This song was written arbitrarily purely for the purpose just to write a fun song with your friends. I just wanted a hyped up song. I grabbed my best friend who can spit, put a ribbon on it and there’s Tropic Thunderground. Although acoustic is still my primary shit, I finally live somewhere stable where I have the time and means to explore different styles of music!
Tony & Gravel are a nomadic acoustic duo blending Folk, Old-Time Americana, and Punk Rock. Their music is “built on raw, heartfelt lyrics and melodies.”
Best friends since 2007, the pair have been making music together for over a decade, “sometimes loud and energetic, sometimes slow and somber, but almost always tinged with a charming mix of nihilism and stubborn optimism.”
