Singer/songwriter Kristina Train has announced new album County Line, set for release on September 19, 2025. She has also released title track single, “County Line.”

Train’s career has led to work with Blue Note Records, appearances on Bruce Springsteen’s playlist, to sharing stages with Herbie Hancock, and to collaborations with Dr. Dre.

Recorded at Dave’s Room in Los Angeles, a studio known for music by Tom Petty, Smokey Robinson, and Lucinda Williams, County Line was produced by Colin Devlin and Kirk Pasich.

Collaborating musicians include Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile) on drums, Paul Bushnell (Tim McGraw, Shakira, Michael Bublé) on bass, and Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty) on pedal steel.

The album also features Ed Harcourt, Kim Richey, Jimmy Hogarth, Mike Mattison, and Paul Olsen, as well as string arrangements by Golden Globe-nominated composer Brian Byrne, performed by the Oklahoma Film Orchestra.

Train says of the album:

It’s where I came from and where I’m going. These songs are who I am — past and present, mixed in with a little dreaming.

The album contains a blend of originals and re-envisioned classic songs, including a new take on Cher’s “Believe”, alongside gender-flipped reinventions of songs by Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson.

Of the title track, which is a reimagining of her origin story, Train says:

The ‘County Line’ is both truth and fable. It’s about being on the outside looking in, slightly on the edge of reality.

County Line is Kristina Train’s fifth full-length release, following Spilt Milk, Dark Black, Rayon City, and 2022’s Body Pressure.
