Hayes Carll’s “Progress Of Man (Bitcoin & Cattle)” Is A Humorous But Sobering Commentary On Selfishness

Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Hayes Carll has announced forthcoming tenth album We’re Only Human, out August 8th, 2025, on Thirty Tigers. Though Carll is usually known for his characters, for these songs, Carll turns a mirror to himself in a reflective way. The single and video for “Progress of Man (Bitcoin & Cattle)” is out now. The track “Progress Of Man (Bitcoin & Cattle)” is “a humorous yet sobering commentary on the greed, selfish and narcissistic tendencies that permeate today’s society.”

Carll says about the album:

The record was inspired by a desire to start listening to my inner voice rather than running from it. The songs are my way of solidifying the lessons I’ve learned, not because I have all the answers, but because I need the reminder that we’re all only human.

Hayes Carll has just announced the extensive We’re Only Human Fall Tour in support of the album. Cities include Austin, Dallas, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Toronto, Detroit, Atlanta, and many more. We’re Only Human is the follow up to 2021’s You Get It All.
