Museum of Light has released new bonus track, “Long Dark,” recorded during the sessions for their latest album Diviner, with returning producer Scott Evans. More than just an outtake, the song features a spoken word contribution from Johnny Chal, a New Zealander who survived a cardiac event while in Sydney.
After waking in the hospital, Johnny Chal heard “How Everybody Dies” from the band’s debut album and reached out to share his experience of having his heart stop, and what it felt like to go “somewhere else.” His reflections became the centerpiece of “Long Dark,” a track that “explores the space between life and death.” The song is out now and is also included as a bonus digital download with all purchases of Diviner.
