Nomadic singer/songwriter, Producer, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Cramer, a.k.a Old Sea Brigade, has announced the second installment of his EP series If Only I Knew (Pt. 2), set for release on August 8th, 2025. Alongside the announcement, Cramer has released new single, “Green Tea,” featuring Katie Pruitt.
Old Sea Brigade’s music continues to intertwine with his life’s journey. Born in Atlanta and formerly based in Nashville, Cramer recently embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Sweden with his partner and welcoming their first child.
While If Only I Knew (Pt. 1) was recorded in Gothenburg, Sweden, Pt. 2, brings Cramer back to his roots, capturing the collaborative spirit of his home studio in Nashville. The new track “Green Tea” follows his previous singles “According to Planned” and “Distant Skies.”
He explains the origins of the collaboration:
Though we had both been in Nashville for a while, Katie and I met for the first time over Zoom. I was a bit skeptical about the whole ‘zoom write’ experience and I think this was my first time trying it out. I’m pretty sure both of us really had no expectations. Luckily both of our internet connections were quite good that day so it almost felt like we were in the same room! I was pleasantly surprised because about 2 hours in, we had written ‘Green Tea.’
Katie Pruitt adds:
Ben and I wrote “Green Tea” a few years back. At the time it was a song about relaxing on a Monday night but in retrospect, it feels like it’s truly about learning how to sit with the discomfort of heartbreak while simultaneously learning how to love yourself again.
Cramer’s latest album, 2022’s 5am Paradise, explored “the textures and intricacies of everyday life”, intentionally leaving songs “unresolved—posing more questions than…answers.”
