Miki Berenyi Trio have released Big I Am, the latest single from their forthcoming debut album Tripla due out April 4, 2025 via Bella Union. The song “skewers the macho aggression unleashed by social media types such as Andrew Tate.” It also builds on the Dream Pop of their upcoming album.

Miki Berenyi shares:

I’ve witnessed 50+ years of the trends in masculinity and frankly, nothing much changes – as ever, there are good men and there are shit men, and there are boys who can be misguided but easily mature into the best of their sex. But this latest incarnation of ‘winning’ the sex war is a laughably infantile and wilfully regressive new low.

The accompanying video was filmed at the Consortium Museum (Contemporary Art Center) in Dijon, France, in one of the Isabella Ducrot “Profusione” exhibition rooms, by director Sébastien Faits-Divers.

Miki Berenyi Trio, or MB3 for short, is named after its lead singer who is the former singer/co-guitarist of Lush, but the songwriting is entirely a three-way collaboration, as the album title describes. It acknowledges the mother tongue of Miki’s father, since Tripla is Hungarian for “triple”.

Tripla is completed by a mix by Paul Gregory of Bella Union labelmates Lanterns On The Lake and artwork by Chris Bigg, who designed the sleeves for Piroshka and contributed to all of Lush’s sleeves, and incorporated photography from Martin Andersen.

Miki Berenyi Trio have announced a number of upcoming live dates including Rough Trade in-store performances for the album launch in April followed by a European tour and a UK tour in May.
