Rounder Records has released Fireside Sessions Vol. 2 from singer/songwriter John R. Miller. Following the EP Fireside Sessions Vol. 1, the second edition is comprised of alternate stringband takes on tracks from his 2023 album, Heat Comes Down.
The second volume features special guests Erin Rae, Emily Nenni and Abby Hamilton, and two additional cover songs, including Neil Young’s “Human Highway.”
While the first volume pulled from performance videos recorded around the fire in Miller’s backyard, for Vol. 2 he chose to bring his collaborations to a fireplace indoors. The audio recordings of Miller’s first volume, which was comprised of songs from his 2021 album, Depreciated, were made available via DSPs in late 2024. Both releases are accompanied by live performance videos for each song.
Miller is currently on tour. He will also be performing at Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion on March 13th, and at MerleFest in Wilkesboro, NC on April 26th.
