After sitting down to write a new song with Country artist Zach John King, former member of the Grammy-nominated Old Crow Medicine Show, Mason Via, knew that he wanted the song for himself. It became his song out now, alongside a video, “Fireball,” inspired by his wife’s supportive role in his life. The track is part of his upcoming LP.
Mason Via says:
We were writing right off Music Row and were hoping to pitch this song to some big fancy country star. Instead, I got the song severely stuck in my head and connected with the lyrics so much that I had to record it on my new album.
Via says about the inspiration for the single, his wife:
She is my rock in the storm and chaos that is being a full-time musician. With how fast the world has been spinning these days, I’m thankful to be in love.

“Fireball” is the latest single from Mason Via’s upcoming self-titled LP. Mason Via was inspired by the music he heard as a child in Appalachia, raised in two mountain towns that straddled the Virginia/North Carolina border. One parent lived in Danbury, North Carolina, and the other lived in Patrick County, Virginia. Via spent time in both homes, absorbing the musical traditions of an area that hosted fiddlers conventions, banjo competitions, and campfire jams.
