Singer, songwriter and Producer Luke Sital-Singh has shared his fifth full-length album, Fool’s Spring, which includes the new single “Little River,” an “upbeat track from a musician who once gave a TED Talk on the power of sad songs inspired by becoming a new father.”
Of the inspiration for “Little River,” Luke says:
This record came from a chaotic time for me and my family. Through it all, ‘Gone Fishing’ was a lifeline – the scenery, the humour, the love/hate banter of Mortimer & Whitehouse. For an hour each week it was like hanging with two old mates and nothing else mattered. Seemed only right to nod to it in the world of ‘Little River.’
Fool’s Spring is Luke Sital-Singh’s most musically eclectic collection to date. The songs take listeners through his difficult personal journey over the past few years. The album title is a nod to this rollercoaster, “the tease of impending spring, of hope, only for winter to return again.”
This is, in part, a reference to the struggles that the musician and his wife had with starting a family. They tried for a baby while living in LA, to no avail, so eventually they decided to return to the UK to see if their luck might change, where they’d also be supported by old friends and family.

Luke explains:
So much was happening in my life which meant this record was just happening in the background over a long period of time. And I didn’t feel like I was getting anywhere until I looked back and realized: ‘Oh, that’s actually half the record finished…’ So there was a lot of uncertainty and unsurety with making this one – but also a lot of enjoyment at the same time, because there was nobody else. I was literally on my own. I was making every decision.
With Luke and his wife welcoming their first child last July, he says:
Now, as the album is being released, my son rests in my arms. I feel the weight of how life has shifted – these songs, written before everything changed, now ring out in a new world.
