Artist, illustrator, and writer Tobin Sprout was the partner of Robert Pollard in Guided By Voices. Tobin Sprout with Bevil Web will be releasing a 4 song 7” record on February 10, 2025, which will be available only at TobinSprout.net. Recorded in Athens, Georgia at Green Tambourine Studio by Peter Alvanos, and at Moonflower Studio in Leland, Michigan.

On the genesis of the group name, Sprout recalls:

The Bevil Web band name was coined by Pete Jamison, original Guided By Voices manager and t-shirt maker.  I used the name for a couple side projects in the ‘90s and decided to use it again for this new group.

Bevil Web is Tobin Sprout (ex-GBV, fig. 4), Tommy Schichtel (B-sides, Fuzzrites, The Concussions) , Christopher Schichtel (B-sides, Fuzzrites, The Concussions), Michael Houseman (Lost Systems, User, Fuzzrites), Peter Alvanos (Elf Power).

Bevil Web will be touring the Northeast in February, playing Tobin’s solo and GBV songs along with a songs from Tommy Shichtel’s second solo album, Touch The Weed, recently released on Sprout’s Petrified Fish Records.
