Jefferson Ross Brings “Life, Death, Faith, Doubt” To Upcoming Album ‘Backstage Balladeer’

With his newest album, Backstage Balladeer, Jefferson Ross crafts his take on “life, death, faith, doubt” and tries to “make sense of his homeland,” the American South. It arrives on March 28th, 2025. This solo record is one where he wrote, played, recorded and mixed, and even shot the photographs on the album jacket.

The album also takes on an overt religious theme drawn from Ross’s “Pentecostal upbringing in conflict with a well-traveled and well-read worldview.”

Stylistically, the album is varied, with Ross utilizing Fenders as well as Martins. His sound explorations stem from him “sitting in a room having the time of his life and hoping that you’ll be a little bit entertained as well.”
