Maddie Riccardo Pays Tribute To Her Parents’ Support Of Her Musical Journey With “We’re Around”

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Maddie Riccardo has released new single “We’re Around”, which is a tribute to her parents and their “unwavering support” on her musical journey. Her music is built on Country influences with Pop elements.

Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Riccardo was the only girl among six siblings, and followed in her dad’s footsteps as he played guitar. Influenced by a mix of Bruce Springsteen and Adele, she developed a love for both ballads and electric guitar riffs.

Riccardo pursued a Music Business degree at Belmont University in Nashville, combining her artistic aspirations with her parents’ advice to understand the industry. While at college, she recorded and released four songs with her Producer and found a creative home in Nashville’s Writers’ Rounds, performing at venues like Tin Roof and the Bluebird Café. Her Bluebird performance of “We’re Around” was a tribute to that moment, with her parents flying in to watch her.

She explains:

My dad mentioned to me once that if I ever played at the Blue Bird, they were coming.

She identifies herself in this way:

I am just a regular girl who writes music, and that’s about it. I am super emotional, I take my hurt, and I turn it into songs.
