Nashville artist/songwriter Sean McConnell has released new single “Take It Easy Darlin’”, from his forthcoming album Skin, which arrives on February 28th, 2025 via Metropolitan Groove Merchants. The track “addresses the feeling of giving compassion to someone you care about, but knowing there is nothing you can do for them.”
McConnell comments:
This is a song about wanting to take the weight of the world off the shoulders of someone you love when you can see that they are fighting a battle that only they can fight. There’s a certain kind of helplessness that comes along with that reality. On both sides. It’s a hard lesson to learn, that often what we can offer is simply to sit with someone in their pain and just be a witness to it.
Skin shares some of McConnell’s “deepest thoughts, questions and feelings” while “continuing to evolve as a father, husband, friend, son, artist and human being.” The songs “question many of life’s paradoxes with a new-found wisdom that can only come from through lived experiences.”
Over the course of the last 20 years, Sean McConnell has been an accomplished songwriter and artist and also a sought-after songwriter and co-writer/collaborator working with the artists such as Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, and more in multiple genres.
