Rare DM, the Brooklyn-based project of singer, Producer, and multi-instrumentalist Erin Hoagg, has shared new single and video, “Skater Hits Me Harder,” via House of Feelings. It’s a song “about that good first-date feeling, the foreplay before the foreplay”.
Hoagg says:
’Skater Hits Me Harder’ is lyrically about banging someone and wanting to do it again, and about realizing that your last lover really sucked. But the feeling behind the song is that nothing is better than that first date kiss — someone holding your hand for the first time. When you don’t know if the date is going well but you have butterflies and are kinda nervous but then they grab your hand and you make out against fences on the way back to your apartment.
Armed with a collection of vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines, Hoagg draws inspiration from EBM, minimal techno, electroclash, Post-Punk, and more.

Often focused on local shows in New York, Hoagg’s tours have also spanned North America, Europe, and Mexico, sharing stages with acts including Model/Actriz, Molchat Doma, Mareux, and Drab Majesty.
